The cooperation Agreement between Scholasticus and Universidad Católica allows all students participating in Scholasticus’ programs to take courses at the University. All credits earned at Universidad Católica are transferable abroad. Universidad Católica is member of the College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS).
The credit equivalency will depend on your home university's guidelines and policies. Universidad Católica has transferred credit to dozens of foreign higher-learning institutions in the United States, Europe, Latin-America and Asia.
We encourage program participants to combine the Spanish and General Courses at Universidad Católica with internships, which will accomodate to the student's specific schedule according to their academic workload for the term.
By participating in Scholasticus' program, students will be able to take two types of courses: General Courses and Spanish for Foreigners Courses.
Scholasticus students can take any available General Courses at the Colleges and Departments of Universidad Católica, if they fulfill the requirements needed for admission. To take any course dictated in Spanish the students will have to prove language proficiency. To validate previous academic experience, the students will have to show their academic record. Students can fulfill any pre-requirements with courses taken at their home university if those have close curricular relation to the courses listed as pre-requisite for their desired class at Universidad Católica.
Students can take General Courses in any of the following Colleges at Universidad Católica:
College of Architecture
College of Arts
College of Economic Sciences
Business College
Philosophy, Literature and Communications College
College of Engineering
College of Law
College of Medicine
College of Education
Please consult with the Academic or Study Abroad Advisor at your home university to determine course availability and transfer eligibility.
All students admitted by Scholasticus can also take courses of Spanish as Second Language. Those courses will be offered under Universidad Católica ’s Spanish for Foreigners Program. Class sizes in the Spanish for Foreigners Program are highly personalized, ranging from 4 to 12 students per class.
